The first Volunteer Centre trophy for Volunteering Excellence to be awarded at Sir E Scott School in Harris was presented to Ross MacLeod. Ross, who left school in June 2015, is now studying in Edinburgh. During his time in school Ross spent many hours volunteering at the Scalpay Youth Club, and was nominated for the VCWI Young Volunteer of the Year Award in 2014 by teacher Mr Mackenzie. He then successfully campaigned to become a Member of the Scottish Youth Parliament for Eilean Siar, a position which he will hold until June 2017. He has already gained the Saltire Ascent Award for 100 hours volunteering and is well on his way to 200 hours. Well done Ross!
