The Volunteer Centre Western Isles run networking lunches for volunteer managers twice a year. The VOLNET meetings are very informal and offer managers the chance to get together and catch up.

We recogniase that volunteer managers are very busy people and whilst many find taking a break for an hour or so twice a year to be very rewarding not everyone can make the meetings. We are often asked to pass out information on consultations, funding, training and events in between our 2 meetings a year. To enable us to do this better, we are currently in the process of setting up a number of vitual interest networks. You can sign up to as many or as few as you wish and we will then only send you information relating to the topics you have chosen hopefully getting the balance between sharing too much and not enough information.

Networks you can sign up to at the moment include:

  • Community Capacity Building
  • Children and Young People
  • Older People
  • OHCPP updates (Community Planning Partnership)
  • Gaelic
  • General Voluntary Sector
  • Employability
  • Education/Training
  • Drugs and Alcohol
  • Communities
  • Natural/Cultural Resources
  • Economy
  • Health
  • Volunteering
  • Networking Events
  • Volunteer Centre Newsletter

Our next VOLNET meeting will be held in April 2014.

We will also be taking part in a roadshow of networking lunches for voluntary groups with our partners in C-CIG. We will be in Barra on the 18th February, Balivanich 19th Febuary, Tarbert 20th February and Stornoway 21st February.

Times, venues and further deatils will be available here shortly.
